Be won over by the one-piece swimsuit in summer 2010/2011

Make waves on the beach with your swimwear this summer with the one piece reigning supreme with most swimwear designers having at least one variation of the one piece in their Summer 2010/11 collections.

The one piece is the swimsuit equivalent of the LBD; classy, stylish, elegant and timeless. Less is definitely more when it comes to the figure-friendly one piece that can accent the good and diverts the eye away from the not so good unlike bikinis which leave little to the imagination.

Choose from playful cut outs, slashed swimsuits, off-the-shoulder or strapless numbers, plunging necklines and swimsuits with embellishments, exquisite back detailing and gold and silver accents that wouldn’t look out of place in the Hamptons this season.

Stay away from the retro, 50s inspired swimswear and  high-waisted briefs that have made an unwelcome return this summer and only accentuate the areas you are trying to hide.

The one piece has evolved into a versatile fashion item that can take you from beach to bar in only a matter of seconds. You may want to proceed with caution when you go swimming at the beach but since when is fashion meant to be practical? Don’t answer that …

    Hi Jearalyn,

Thank you for visiting my blog. This post was written last year in October so these styles are most likely to have sold out. I think you may be referring to the third swimsuit which is black and has a gold trim? The second and third swimsuit are made by one of my favourite swimsuit designers Melissa Obabash. Her website address is: http://www.odabash.com Her designs were featured on Britain’s Next Top Model Cycle 6.
